Oh, not "camping", sos-and-so's wedding. Ouch, sorry dude ... have fun. An open bar though?? Soooo, got a date yet?

Yeah that’s right mofos, MOTEL arises from winter hibernation to bust out some sweet jams live at C’est What? on Saturday, March 25th. Opening will be the lurvely Joan Smith & The Huxtables. Hopefully they come decked out in dad-sweaters just like their namesake ... that would be awesome! The show gets underway sometime after 10pm and cover is only FIVE BUCKS - cheap!

MOTEL TEAR THE SHIT OUT OF NOV & DEC
November 18, 2005

In an unprecedented move, Motel have been kicked off their collectively asses and will be playing THREE shows in the coming weeks. Read on, dear friends, read on ...

The Horseshoe Tavern
Tuesday, November 22, 2005 - 10:20pm-11:00pm
Queen W. at Spadina
Museum Pieces, MOTEL, Capital & Vertical Struts

Some fool has done gone and booked us to play the Horseshoe. How'd that happen? We'll be playing the sweet spot at Bookman's weekly "Nu Music Night" this coming Tuesday with a short-ish set from 10:20 - 11:00 pm. Coincidentally, we will be followed by our arch-nemesis, CAPITAL, who helped us out at our very first gig as 'Motel' just over a year ago. Anyway, i won't resort to begging, but pleeeeeease-pleease-please come by -- it's not that late. Even if you stick around to watch Capilalatal, you'll still be outta there and home in time to watch Jon Stewart. C'mon, you know you wanna.

Zemra Bar Lounge
Saturday, December 3, 2005
778 St. Clair W. (just west of Christie)
w/ National Records Board and others

This brings me to my next plug, which is that we will playing a Saturday night real soon like. Zemra Bar Lounge on St. Clair supporting National Records Board and a couple fo other folks who's names escape me right now. The place should be packed and rockin. All four bands feature ex-members of the Plaid Daddies and Declan Nine (incl. our own Julian Vardy).

CFNY/Steamwhistle Indie Club
Saturday, December 17, 2005 - 9:00 pm
In the 'Edge' studio at 228 Yonge

Yeah you read that right. We're playing that Edge Indie Club thing where you try to wedge a bunch o' people between the CFNY studio space and the cabs whizzing down Yonge. Hopefully they give us some beer given that it is sponsored by that finest of fine local brews. I think we play at around 9:00 pm to the curious and passers-by. Come on by to see us pretend to be radio stars.

Have you heard about this? Letters can now be sent over the internets ... amazing! motelband@gmail.com.

PS .. Out-shouts to the Sicards on their brand new Mini-Sicard!

THIS IS A COWBOY PARTY
August 18, 2005

El Mocambo
Friday, August 19, 2005
464 Spadina Ave., Toronto
(west side of Spadina, just south of College).

This is it cowpokes. A night at the El Mocambo to collectively celebrate the 30th birthdays of our very own Rich Pauptit and Brian Scott. Awww, aren't they cute?!? Seems like just yesterday they were both shitting their diapers and wailing in their cribs. How time flies ... sigh.

Anyway, supporting us in this endeavour will be Cellar Door, Bent Brain, & Canteen Knockout. The party gets underway starting at 9:00pm. Admission is $4 with cowboy gear, OR $7 without - so like wear a big shiny belt buckle and a straw hat and save three bucks which you can then invest in alcomohol so you won't be worried about looking like a goof on your subway ride home. See how we're looking out for you?

Your words will be assimilated by sending them to: motelband@gmail.com.

In the interests of historical record ...
We played a lively little set at the Rivoli on Sunday July 24, 2005 in support of McCuaig. Now you know.

Yet Another Show Update
May 4, 2005

El Mocambo
Friday, May 6, 2005
464 Spadina Ave., Toronto
(west side of Spadina, just south of College).

Again in the College/Spadina 'hood. This time with bands we don't know. Line up is: Midway State at 10pm; MOTEL at 11pm (yay for us!); and Crush Luther at 12pm. Cover is like $6 or something affordable like that. Hope to see YOU there! ... No no, not you, i was talking to that person behind you. Sheesh ...

Show Update
Feb. 20, 2005

Rancho Relaxo
Saturday, February 26, 2005
300 College St. (north side, about a block west of Spadina).

As referenced by the graphic to the left, we will be rockin' the upstairs room at Rancho Relaxo next Saturday night. February 26, 2005. I have no idea what time things will get underway or what the cover will be, but i will estimate 10pm -ish and around five bucks. We will be supported by League of Nations and our own guitaring-and-songwriting-type-guy, Brian Scott, doing the solo-acoustic thing. Big B's recording a solo album right now, so you'll be treated to material from that project. It's good. You won't want to miss him.

As always, questions and/or answers can be sent to motelband@gmail.com.
